Development and production of documentation, from the initial evaluation and investigation through to final provision with agreed format and content.

Consultancy and advice regarding the best form of user documentation.
Full maintenance of documentation as a system changes so that it is always up-to-date. This can be undertaken at regular intervals or as major releases occur.
Updating and restructuring of existing documentation, including indexing.
Conversion of printed documentation into a variety of online formats.
Preparation of magazine articles and other text on a freelance basis. This includes researching of content, provision of drafts for approval and submission of agreed text.

Work is generally undertaken on a fixed-price basis. After establishing what is needed, a full proposal is normally provided. This sets out:

the requirement
scope of the work, with possible formats and content
working methods and any relevant facts
costs and payment terms
timetable of events.

You are thus provided with the necessary details to make an informed decision and are not faced with unexpected charges.

Once development is complete and agreed, you are supplied with the documentation in all necessary forms. This may include:

printed manuals
PDF or PostScript files for a print bureau
help files of various types
all original word processed documents and graphic files.

You will also have full copyright to the documentation. It is not TechWrite Services' policy to try to keep clients by retaining the copyright or holding on to vital files. Repeat business is instead obtained through the quality of the service provided.

All development is undertaken using the appropriate tools, such as:

Microsoft Word for document layout
Macromedia Dreamweaver and Fireworks for web site and HTML production
Corel Draw, Photo-Paint and Microsoft Visio for drawings and graphics
Doc-to-Help for help text.
